Easiest Way to Install Wordpress on VPS/VDS (8 Easy Steps)

Discover the 8 easy steps to install WordPress website on a Linux VPS, VDS, or Dedicated Server. This guide is tailored for Host VDS but applies seamlessly to any Linux-based system, including Ubuntu, CentOS, or Debian VPS, shared servers, or dedicated hosting. Set up your WordPress blog, Node.js app, or PHP website quickly and efficiently with this beginner-friendly tutorial.

If you already have a VPS/VDS Server then you can start from to Step No 4. You just need SSH access of your server.

How to Install Wordpress in VPS/VDS Linux Server?

1. Sign up on Host VDS and create a New Instance. Choose Region with minimum latency to you. Lower the better.

2. Choose and buy a plan. You need to pay at least 1$ to activate your account. 

Make sure to choose Debian as Image as I faced multiple issues with ubuntu latest release.

3. SSH into the server with the Login credentials they had sent you on mail after activating the server.

4. Update and Install Dependencies.

apt update && apt -y upgrade && apt -y install curl wget sudo

5. Install Cloud Panel for Easy Server Management.

curl -sS https://installer.cloudpanel.io/ce/v2/install.sh -o install.sh; \
echo "a3ba69a8102345127b4ae0e28cfe89daca675cbc63cd39225133cdd2fa02ad36 install.sh" | \
sha256sum -c && sudo bash install.sh

6. Login to CloudPanel once the installation is successful. It will ask you to create admin user for first time use.

7. Add a Site > Create a Wordpress Site > Fill in your site details > Create

8. Map the domain name to Server IP. You need to login to DNS provider to update the A records. You can find the Server IP inside HostVDS dashboard.

Now with Cloud Panel you have full access to File Manager, Database Manager for your Wordpress site. You can even create Node JS or php websites inside CloudPanel.
