The OnePlus 8 is a more iterative take on its predecessor, the OnePlus 7 T, but it contains ample upgrades to make it a really affordable flagship smartphone – and in some respects, the latest OnePlus phone has less competition, provided that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series doesn't have its own low-priced counterpart.
The OnePlus 8 comes in three colors and two finishes: the colors of Onyx Black and Interstellar Glow come with glossy glass at the rear while the texture of Glacial Green is matt.
Highlights
Display
Independent screen tester DisplayMate has awarded the OnePlus 8 Pro an A+ grade, with the handset offering an industry-leading 1300 nits peak brightness and top-level color accuracy.
5G
The good news is that the OnePlus 8 Pro supports 5G networks. The bad news is that this phone doesn’t support mmWave networks, which means you won’t get the fastest 5G speeds. The phone's X55 5G modem supports sub-6GHz 5G, low, and mid-band. Only the regular OnePlus 8 sold through Verizon supports mmWave
