The successor to India's most successful smartphone, the Redmi Note 4 has finally been announced after months of speculation. Previous rumours suggested that there won't be any addition to the Note series this year.
However Xiaomi quelled these rumours with the unexpected announcement. The Redmi Note 5 will be officially launched on the 14th of February 2018.
They announced the launch on their official twitter handle by post the following tweet.
The Redmi Note 5 will have a 18:9 aspect ratio with a bezel less display. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will likely sport a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Snapdragon 625 variant will come with 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB storage, while the Snapdragon 636 processor variant is said to have 3/4/6GB RAM and 32/64GB storage.
The Redmi Note 5 will feature a 12MP lens at the back. The front shooter will be an 5 MP one. The Redmi Note 5 plus will feature a combination of a 12MP+5MP lens at the back and a 20MP front camera.
